Biolegend, 632451, Purified anti-SMARCA4/BRG1 Antibody, 25μg

The transcription regulator SMARCA4/BRG1 is part of the SWI/SNF protein family and regulates chromatin structure in an ATP-dependent manner. It has helicase and ATPase activities which are required for chromatin topology remodeling. SMARCA4/BRG1 is important in transcriptional regulation of several genes involved in stress responses, neurogenesis, cell cycle, and differentiation. In this context, transcription of c-FOS in resting neurons is inhibited by recruitment of phospho RB1-HDAC complex by SMARCA4/BRG1. Alternatively, the CREST-BRG1 complex induces NR2B expression by binding to its promotor. In addition, SMARCA4/BRG1 regulates the expression of the tumorigenic protein CD44. Lastly, mutations in the SMARCA4 gene have been associated with rhabdoid tumor predisposition syndrome type 2.

Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded immunohistochemical staining. For immunohistochemistry, a concentration range of 1 - 5 µg/mL is suggested. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.25 - 1.0 µg/mL. For intracellular flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.125 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
