Biolegend, 936601, Purified anti-MUT Antibody, 25μg

MUT encodes MCM (Methylmalonyl-CoA mutase), which resides in the mitochondria to metabolize branched and odd-chain fatty acids. Utilizing cobalamin as a cofactor, MCM also isomerizes methylmalonyl-CoA to make succinyl-CoA, an important intermediate in the Kreb’s Cycle. Mutations in the gene can lead to disruptions in amino acid metabolism and may alter lipid and glucose homeostasis.

Application: WB - Quality tested
Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by western blotting. For western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.2 - 1.0 µg/mL. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Application Notes: When tested for ICC on 4% PFA-fixed HeLa cells, this clone produced punctate nuclear staining, which is inconsistent with the reported mitochondrial matrix localization of MUT. We therefore do not recommend this clone for the application.
