MIB1, identified as an interactor of death associated protein kinase (DAPK), probably regulate apoptosis through ubiquitination and degradation of DAPK, thereby antagonizing anti-apoptotic effects of DAPK1 to promote TNF-induced apoptosis. MIB1 promotes proteasomal degradation of NRF2 and sensitizes lung cancer cells to ferroptosis(PMID: 34670864). In addition, MIB1 upregulates IQGAP1 and promotes pancreatic cancer progression by inducing ST7 degradation(PMID: 33793053).
