PLTP is involved in the distribution and metabolism of high-density lipoprotein ( HDL ) and reverse cholesterol transfer ( RCT ). In plasma, PLTP catalyzes the transfer of phospholipids ( mainly phosphatidylcholine ) between lipoproteins (PMID: 29558025).
