DUSP12 is a kind of dual specificity phosphatase. It can dephosphorylate both phosphotyrosine and phosphoserine or phosphothreonine residues and can dephosphorylate glucokinase in vitro (PMID:10446167). In addition, DUSP12 has phosphatase activity with the synthetic substrate 6,8-difluoro-4-methylumbelliferyl phosphate and other in vitro substrates (PMID:24531476).
