The expression of ANUBL1 was specifically upregulated in gastric cancer and it was positively associated with grades of gastric cancer. Moreover, it promoted proliferation of gastric cancer SGC-7901 cells. The mechanism of ANUBL1 upregulation in gastric cancer is that miR-182 suppressed the expression of ANUBL1 through targeting its 3'UTR, and ANUBL1 could downregulate the expression of anti-proliferation-associated miRNAs (miR-148b, miR-375 and miR-182) in SGC-7901 cells.
