Background Information
ARAP1 is a member of ARAP family with both Arf GAP and Rho GAP activities, by which ARAP1 makes a direct link between ADP-ribosylation factor (Arf) GTPases and Rho GTPases signaling. ARAP1 is involved in membrane trafficking and receptor recycling. It supports the plasma membrane recycling of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1) and regulates the cell-specific trafficking of the pro-death receptor TRAIL-R1/DR4, thereby promoting TRAIL-induced apoptosis in certain cell types.
