NCKAP5 is predicted to be located in cells, especially in nucleoli, Golgi apparatus, cell membrane and cytoplasm. It is widely expressed in many tissues, especially in lung and kidney, and in more than 20 other tissues. And the expression of NCKAP5 was enhanced in oligodendrocytes, oligodendrocyte precursor cells and astrocytes. It may interact with other protein, such as NPM1 and centromere protein complex, and regulate accurate chromosome segregation and distribution. NCKAP5 may be involved in the formation and development of tumors, especially in the process of tumor variation such as ovary and breast cancer.
