CCDC157 is highly expressed in the testes from Drosophila to mammals. Bioinformatics database analysis suggests that CCDC157 expression is significantly decreased in NOA patients (PMID: 30741974). An in vitro study has reported that CCDC157 is localized on Golgi membranes along the secretory pathway and interacts with resident proteins of ER‐Golgi membranes (PMID: 31488582).
