As the only representative of phenazine biosynthesis-like protein family, PBLD is widely expressed in human tissues, such as brain, heart, lung, liver, pancreas, kidney, and placenta. Its expression is elevated in several diseases processes, including insulin resistance, folate deficiency, and hypotension.
