Rat CD43 is a sialoglycoprotein with an apparent molecular weight of ~100 kDa and is found on thymocytes, T lymphocytes, neutrophils, plasma cells and myelomas but not on B lymphocytes or most other tissues (PMID: 2965006). CD43 is involved in the contact between cells participating in a series of events such as signaling, adherence, and host-parasite interactions (PMID: 10580634; 31197200).
