ACQUITY UPLC CSH Fluoro-Phenyl Column, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 100 mm, 1/pk Designed to provide superior selectivity for positional isomers, halogenated compounds, and polar compounds, the ACQUITY UPLC CSH Fluoro-Phenyl Column utilizes an intricate combination of multiple retention mechanisms. These mechanisms include dipole-dipole, hydrogen bonding, aromatic (pi-pi), and hydrophobic interactions. Unlike lab equipment used with traditional PFP-bonded stationary phases, the Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH) particle has a unique surface chemistry that provides enhanced retention for acidic compounds. Based on Ethylene Bridged Hybrid (BEH) particle technology, CSH represents the third generation of Waters’ hybrid particle technology and incorporates a low-level surface charge that has been designed to improve sample loadability and peak asymmetry when working with low-ionic-strength mobile phases. Chromatographers can benefit from this design while maintaining the mechanical and chemical stability inherent in the BEH particle technology. This enables the ACQUITY UPLC CSH Fluoro-Phenyl Column to provide superior peak shape for basic compounds, increased loading capacity, rapid equilibration of columns, improved reproducibility, and excellent stability across low and high pH. ACQUITY UPLC CSH packing materials have all been designed for use with the ACQUITY UPLC system and have been manufactured in cGMP, ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facilities with the use of ultrapure reagents. Each batch of material is tested chromatographically using basic, acidic, and neutral analytes with results held to narrow specification ranges that provide confidence in excellent and reproducible performance. Waters offers Neutrals QC Reference Material for further testing to be performed in the laboratory. Each package includes one column with an inner diameter of 2.1 m and a length of 100 mm. Columns are sold with eCord Intelligent Chip technology to allow tracking of the column’s performance history.

FAQ
How Should Column Equilibration Be Performed? ACQUITY UPLC CSH columns arrive in 100% acetonitrile. Before changing to a different mobile phase system, it is important to ensure compatibility. Equilibrate the column using a minimum of 10 column volumes of the mobile phase to be used. Once a constant backpressure is achieved, the column can be considered thermally equilibrated.
To avoid precipitating mobile phase buffers on your column or in your system, flush the column with five column volumes of a water/organic solvent mixture. Use the same or lower solvent content as in the desired buffered mobile phase.
