ACQUITY UPLC CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Column, 130Å, 1.7 µm, 2.1 mm X 150 mm, 1/pk Built on the Charged Surface Hybrid (CSH) particle platform, ACQUITY UPLC CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Columns offer exceptional peak shape under both low and high pH conditions while providing complementary selectivity for straight-chain alkyl phases, especially in polyaromatic compounds. CSH Technology utilizes a controlled, low-level surface charge in order to provide this peak shape and selectivity, particularly for low ionic strength mobile phases. This innovative particle starts with the rugged, efficient unbonded BEH particle and then applies a controlled surface charge before functionalizing with the appropriate bonded phase chemistries and a proprietary end-capping process. ACQUITY UPLC CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Columns provide industry-leading reproducibility in addition to their unique column selectivity and exceptional peak shape. Loading capacity is also optimized for basic compounds at both low and high pH without the need for ion pair reagents. Stability is also exceptional, with advanced column equilibration at low and high pH made possible. The controlled, low-level surface charge inherent to the CSH particle is combined with a trifunctionally bonded phenyl-hexyl ligand, ensuring that peak shape and performance are exceptional even when basic compounds are in their ionized form under acidic mobile-phase conditions. All packing materials for ACQUITY UPLC CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Columns are designed specifically to be used with lab equipment in the ACQUITY UPLC System. Manufacturing occurs in cGMP, ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facilities using ultra-pure reagents. When Should ACQUITY UPLC CSH Phenyl-Hexyl Columns Be Cleaned Or Regenerated? Contamination of the columns may have occurred if you notice: changes in peak shape, peak splitting, shoulders on the peak, shifts in retention, a change in resolution, or increased backpressure. If this occurs, the column should be flushed with a neat organic solvent. Take care not to precipitate buffers.
If this flushing procedure does not solve the problem, purge the column using a cleaning routine that matches the properties of the samples and/or the contaminant if known. 20 column volumes of solvent can be used for the flushing procedure. If needed, cleaning efficiency can be enhanced by increasing column temperature.
