LDB3 also known as LIM domain-binding protein 3 or ZASP plays a mechanical role in muscle function. It is a protein of approximately 80-110 kDa depending on its various isoforms. LDB3 is mainly expressed in cardiac and skeletal muscle tissues where it localizes at the Z-lines within the sarcomeres. It interacts with other structural proteins to provide stability impacting muscle contraction and integrity.
