Alcian Blue staining protocol summary:
- deparaffinize sections if necessary and hydrate
- prepare Working Rinse solution
- apply Working Rinse solution to tissue for 30 sec
- incubate in Alcian Blue pH 1.0 for 30 min
- rinse in Working Rinse Solution
- blot and air dry slide
- stain in nuclear fast red for 1-2 min
- rinse in water and allow to dry completely
- clear and mount
