FOXR2 also known as Forkhead box protein R2 is a transcription factor with a mass of approximately 31 kDa. It is part of the large family of forkhead transcription factors characterized by a distinct DNA-binding domain known as the "forkhead box". FOXR2 expression is mostly observed in the brain particularly within the central nervous system. Researchers have identified its expression in other tissues under specific conditions indicating a potential role beyond its primary locations.
