RPP14 also known as Ribonuclease P/MRP 14 kDa subunit is an enzymatic protein that plays an important role in RNA processing. It has a molecular weight of approximately 14 kDa. This protein is part of the ribonuclease P complex an essential component for the maturation of precursor tRNA molecules by removing 5' leader sequences. RPP14 expresses in a variety of tissues with higher levels often seen in those requiring extensive RNA processing such as the liver and spleen.
