PTPMT1 also known as protein tyrosine phosphatase mitochondrial 1 has a molecular mass of approximately 23 kDa. This protein is a unique phosphatase localized to the mitochondria. It specifically dephosphorylates phosphatidylinositol phosphates and plays a critical role in mitochondrial function.
