Pirin also known as PIR protein is a nuclear iron-dependent non-heme oxidoreductase involved in various cellular processes. The PIR protein sometimes called PIR-B or PIR-A/B has a molecular mass of approximately 32 kDa. It expresses in many human tissues including the brain heart and lungs.
