REACH authorisation
Abcam has not and does not intend to apply for the REACH Authorisation of customers' uses of products that contain European Authorisation list (Annex XIV) substances.
It is the responsibility of our customers to check the necessity of application of REACH Authorisation, and any other relevant authorisations, for their intended uses.
Lysate preparation:
Our lysates are made using RIPA buffer to which we add a protease inhibitor cocktail and phosphatase inhibitor cocktail (ratio: 300:100:10).
This means that the protein of interest is denatured.
If you require a native form of the protein please use the live cell version. Please refer to our lysis protocol for further details on how our lysates are prepared.
User storage instructions:
Lyophilizate may be stored at 4°C. After reconstitution, store at -20°C for short-term storage or -80°C for long-term storage.
This product is subject to limited use licenses from The Broad Institute, ERS Genomics Limited and Sigma-Aldrich Co. LLC, and is developed with patented technology. For full details of the licenses and patents please refer to our

RRAGB also known as Ras-related GTPase B is a member of the Rag family of GTPases. This protein has a molecular mass of approximately 42 kDa. RRAGB is expressed in various tissues with significant expression in the brain and skeletal muscles. The protein functions as a molecular switch toggling between active GTP-bound and inactive GDP-bound states. This cycling allows RRAGB to regulate mTORC1 signaling which is essential for cellular growth and metabolism.
Biological function summary
RRAGB partners with other Rag GTPases to form heterodimeric complexes. These complexes facilitate the proper localization and activation of mTORC1 on the lysosomal membrane. Moreover RRAGB plays a role in amino acid sensing which impacts cellular growth. By responding to intracellular nutrient levels RRAGB helps modulate anabolic processes and energy balance.
Pathways
RRAGB is integral to the mTOR signaling and nutrient-sensing pathways. As a part of these pathways RRAGB collaborates with proteins such as Raptor and Rheb. These interactions ensure efficient transmission of signals that regulate cell growth and metabolism. The accurate function of this network supports cellular adaptation to varying environmental nutrient conditions.
RRAGB has been associated with certain cancers and neurodegenerative diseases. Alterations in the mTOR pathway involving RRAGB can contribute to undesired cellular proliferation observed in cancers. Moreover disruptions in RRAGB activity can influence mTORC1 signaling in neurodegenerative conditions. It's important to further understand how RRAGB and related proteins like mTOR are involved in the pathology of these diseases to develop targeted therapies.
