REACH authorisation
Abcam has not and does not intend to apply for the REACH Authorisation of customers' uses of products that contain European Authorisation list (Annex XIV) substances.
It is the responsibility of our customers to check the necessity of application of REACH Authorisation, and any other relevant authorisations, for their intended uses.
Lysate preparation:
Our lysates are made using RIPA buffer to which we add a protease inhibitor cocktail and phosphatase inhibitor cocktail (ratio: 300:100:10).
This means that the protein of interest is denatured.
If you require a native form of the protein please use the live cell version. Please refer to our lysis protocol for further details on how our lysates are prepared.
User storage instructions:
Lyophilizate may be stored at 4°C. After reconstitution, store at -20°C for short-term storage or -80°C for long-term storage.
This product is subject to limited use licenses from The Broad Institute, ERS Genomics Limited and Sigma-Aldrich Co. LLC, and is developed with patented technology. For full details of the licenses and patents please refer to our

Host Cell Factor C1 Regulator 1 also known as HCFC1R1 is a protein that acts as a transcriptional co-regulator. It carries about a molecular mass of 300 kDa. HCFC1R1 can modulate the transcription of specific genes by interacting with other transcriptional regulators and general transcription factors. This protein predominantly localizes in the nucleus of the cells where it interacts with chromatin to regulate gene expression. Expression of HCFC1R1 is found in a variety of tissues showing notable levels in the brain and reproductive organs.
Biological function summary
HCFC1R1 functions by interacting with multiple partners in a dynamic multiprotein complex. It associates with Host Cell Factor C1 (HCFC1) as a core component of the complex contributing to the regulation of cell cycle progression and gene expression. The protein is also involved in histone modification processes which influence the epigenetic landscape of the cell. Additionally HCFC1R1 plays roles in DNA repair mechanisms and cellular response to damage accentuating its function in maintaining cellular integrity.
Pathways
HCFC1R1 integrates into essential signal transduction pathways notably the cell cycle control and DNA repair pathways. It associates with proteins such as Histone Deacetylase 1 (HDAC1) participating in chromatin remodeling which subsequently impacts cell cycle progression. HCFC1R1's role in the cell cycle is tightly linked with its regulatory function on the transcriptional activity of E2F transcription factors important components in the control of cell proliferation.
HCFC1R1 is implicated in neurological disorders and cancer. Mutations or dysregulation in its expression are observed in certain neurological conditions where the disruption of transcriptional regulation leads to pathogenesis. Similarly aberrant HCFC1R1 activity can contribute to oncogenic processes by affecting the regulation of cell division and growth-related genes. Its interaction with HCFC1 and associated co-regulators such as HDAC1 links it to pathways involved in tumor progression and neurodevelopmental disorders.
