Lysate preparation:
Our lysates are made using RIPA buffer to which we add a protease inhibitor cocktail and phosphatase inhibitor cocktail (ratio: 300:100:10).
This means that the protein of interest is denatured.

SCAND1 also known as SCAN domain-containing protein 1 has a molecular mass of approximately 20 kDa. Mechanically SCAND1 functions as a transcriptional regulator utilizing its SCAN domain to mediate protein-protein interactions and influence gene expression. Expression of SCAND1 occurs mainly in the nucleus across various cell types indicative of its role in controlling gene transcription.
Biological function summary
SCAND1 acts as a coordinator in cellular transcription machinery by interacting with other proteins. It often forms part of multiprotein complexes that govern chromatin remodeling and gene transcription.
