Product details:
Mouse CCL6 ELISA kit (ab277715) is a single-wash 90 min sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Mouse CCL6 protein in mouse serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, and cell and tissue extract samples. It uses our proprietary SimpleStep ELISA® technology. Quantitate Mouse CCL6 with .97 pg/mL sensitivity.
SimpleStep ELISA® technology employs capture antibodies conjugated to an affinity tag that is recognized by the monoclonal antibody used to coat our SimpleStep ELISA® plates. This approach to sandwich ELISA allows the formation of the antibody-analyte sandwich complex in a single step, significantly reducing assay time. See the SimpleStep ELISA® protocol summary in the image section for further details. Our SimpleStep ELISA® technology provides several benefits:
-Single-wash protocol reduces assay time to 90 minutes or less
-High sensitivity, specificity and reproducibility from superior antibodies
-Fully validated in biological samples
-96-wells plate breakable into 12 x 8 wells strips
A 384-well SimpleStep ELISA® microplate (
ab203359
) is available to use as an alternative to the 96-well microplate provided with SimpleStep ELISA® kits.
CCL6, identified only in rodents, is a small cytokine that belongs to the CC chemokine family in which plays important roles in the immune system such as wound healing, cellular differentiation, macrophage chemoattractant, angiogenesis, and inflammation. Studies have shown CCL6 to promote innate immunity through cell activation and recruitment as well potentially having a role in tumorigenic and metastatic behavior.

CCL6 also known as chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 6 is a small cytokine involved in immune response signaling. It belongs to the CC chemokine family and has a mass of approximately 12 kDa. CCL6 is mainly expressed in monocytes macrophages and T-cells where it plays a role in mediating cell communication and migration. While research has primarily focused on murine models certain expressions in tissues suggest potential counterparts in humans although human-specific studies remain limited.
Biological function summary
CCL6 functions as a chemoattractant for eosinophils and monocytes important in inflammation processes. It does not form part of larger protein complexes but operates as an individual chemokine influencing various leukocyte activities. Its activity is essential for directing cells to sites of injury or infection thereby playing a significant role in managing immune responses and promoting tissue repair.
Pathways
CCL6 plays an important role in the MAPK and NF-kB pathways which regulate inflammatory and immune responses. It functions alongside other essential chemokines like CCL2 (MCP-1) and CCL3 (MIP-1α) contributing to the recruitment and activation of immune cells under inflammatory conditions. This recruitment plays an important role in initiating defense mechanisms and coordinating the body's response to harmful stimuli.
CCL6 has strong associations with inflammatory diseases and autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis. In these conditions CCL6 or its murine counterparts along with associated proteins like IL-6 and TNF-alpha contribute to the disease pathology by promoting persistent inflammation and immune cell infiltration. Understanding CCL6's involvement can be critical for developing targeted therapies in managing these chronic disorders.
