CCL3L1 also known as chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 3-like 1 is a protein encoded by the CCL3L1 gene. This chemokine weighs approximately 10 kDa. CCL3L1 binds to chemokine receptors CCR1 and CCR5 on the surface of target cells. It is secreted by various cells such as macrophages T-cells and dendritic cells. Mainly it expresses in tissues involved in immune responses including lymph nodes and spleen.
Biological function summary
CCL3L1 plays an important role in mediating immune responses. It attracts immune cells like monocytes neutrophils and T-lymphocytes to sites of infection or injury enhancing the immune defense.
