IgG4 also known as IgG4-Fc or IGHG4 is one of the subclasses of Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies. Mechanically it plays a role in the immune response by recognizing and binding to specific antigens. Its molecular weight is approximately 146 kDa which is typical for IgG molecules. IgG4 is commonly expressed in the blood and extracellular fluids. It can also be found at sites of chronic inflammation reflecting its involvement in modulating immune responses.

It does not engage in strong effector functions like other IgG subclasses due to its unique ability to exchange half-molecules leading to functional monovalency.
