Orexin B also known as hypocretin 2 is a neuropeptide with a molecular mass of about 2 kDa. It is one of the two types of orexins the other being orexin A. Orexin B is produced in the lateral hypothalamus and is found mainly in the brain. The neuropeptide binds to the orexin receptor type 2 (HCRTR2) to initiate its actions.
