CD6 is a 100 kD monomeric glycoprotein found on the surface of T cells and is part of the scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) superfamily. In mice, it is expressed on thymocytes, splenic T cells, and neurons, but not on splenic B cells. CD6 has a long cytoplasmic tail containing two proline-rich domains that bind to SH3 domain-containing proteins. Its interaction with its ligand, CD166 (ALCAM), acts as a costimulatory signal via SLP-76. CD6-mediated signaling plays a role in thymocyte survival and functional avidity in both mice and humans.

Application: FC - Quality tested
Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.125 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Application Notes: Clone W20225B can partially block the binding of clone OX-129 on target cells. Binding of W20225B on target cells can be enhanced by clone OX-129.
