Product Description

CD83, also known as B-cell activation protein and Cell surface protein HB15, is a single-pass type I membrane protein which contains one Ig-like V-type (immunoglobulin-like) domain. CD83 is expressed by activated lymphocytes, Langerhans cells and interdigitating reticulum cells. CD83 may play a significant role in antigen presentation or the cellular interactions that follow lymphocyte activation.
100μg
Verified Reactivity: Human
Antibody Type: Recombinant
Host Species: Mouse
Formulation: Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide
Preparation: The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography.
Concentration: 0.5 mg/mL
Storage & Handling: The antibody solution should be stored undiluted between 2°C and 8°C.
Application: FC - Quality tested
Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.5 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
RRID: AB_2927817 (BioLegend Cat. No. 382902)
Structure: Ig superfamily, single chain transmembrane glycoprotein, 43 kD
Distribution: Dendritic cells, Langerhan cells, activated B and T cells
Function: Membrane-bound CD83 is of immune stimulatory capacity, activates T-cells and is important for the generation of thymocytes; the soluble CD83 has the opposite effect and has an immune inhibitory capacity. The transmembrane domain of membrane-bound CD83 stabilizes MHC II, costimulatory molecules and CD28 in the membrane by antagonizing MARCH-family E3 ubiquitin ligases.
Interaction: Treg, Dendritic cells, B cells
Cell Type: B cells, Dendritic cells, Langerhans cells, T cells
Biology Area: Costimulatory Molecules, Immunology
Molecular Family: CD Molecules
