Product Description
Interleukin 17A (IL-17A), also known as IL-17 or CTLA-8, is a proinflammatory cytokine essential for immune defense, inflammation, and tissue pathology. It signals through a receptor complex of IL-17RA and IL-17RC, activating NF-κB and MAPK pathways, which drive the expression of cytokines, chemokines, and antimicrobial peptides. IL-17A is primarily produced by CD4+ Th17 cells, but also by CD8+ T cells, γδ T cells, and innate lymphoid cells. It plays a key role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, and IL-17A-targeted therapies are being developed for chronic inflammatory disorders. The BioLegend LEGEND MAX™ High Sensitivity Human IL-17A ELISA Kit is a Sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) with a 96-well strip plate that is pre-coated with a monoclonal anti-human IL-17A capture antibody. The detection antibody is a biotinylated polyclonal anti-human IL-17A antibody. After washing away any unbound biotinylated detection antibody, a streptavidin-polymer HRP is used for detection. Streptavidin-Polymer HRP enhances the sensitivity of the kit, allowing for detection of low concentrations of IL-17A. This kit is specifically designed for the accurate quantitation of human IL-17A in serum, heparin plasma, and cell culture supernatant. This kit is analytically validated with ready-to-use reagents.

Q: In your LEGEND MAX™ ELISA Kits, there is a step that calls for washing the plates before adding sample. What is the purpose of this step?
A: We typically use a stabilizer for pre-coated plates. The additional washing step is designed to remove these components before you start the assay. If you do not perform the washing, the effect on assay performance is negligible.
Q: I have multiple LEGEND MAX™ ELISA kits that I want to run simultaneously. Can I use the same wash buffer for all the kits?
A: The wash buffer provided in all our LEGEND MAX™ kits is the same and the part numbers on the wash buffer bottles in these kits should be identical. For ELISA MAX™ Deluxe and ELISA MAX™ Standard Sets, we provide a recipe for the wash buffer on each kit’s technical data sheet. This recipe is the same for all ELISA MAX™ sets.
Q: For some of your ELISA kits, why do my serum samples require dilution with assay buffer?
A: In some cases, dilution with assay buffer is required to minimize the matrix difference between the samples and the standards to achieve better accuracy.
