Intracellular adhesion molecule 2 (ICAM2) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein that mediates cell-cell adhesions. Specifically, ICAM2 binds to LFA-1, a member of the integrin family primarily expressed by lymphocytes. ICAM2 expression regulates the migration of leukocytes and neutrophils via cell-cell interactions and plays an important role in their development and immune response. Additionally, ICAM2 controls the adhesion of developing sperm in the testis and is important for proper spermatogenesis.
