BRST1 is a carcinoma-associated antigen and a member of a family that includes at least two type I membrane proteins. This antigen is expressed on most normal epithelial cells and gastrointestinal carcinomas and functions as a homotypic calcium-independent cell adhesion molecule.

Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded immunohistochemical staining. For immunohistochemistry, a concentration range of 1.0 - 5.0 µg/ml is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Application Notes: CU-18 detects a human breast carcinoma associated glycoprotein BCA-225, a 225 kD glycoprotein secreted by the T47D breast carcinoma cell line.
