The membranes are resistant to temperatures up to 900°C and acidic gases, so they are suitable for high temperature flue particulate collection and sampling in acidic air environments. Quartz fiber disc membranes have a low heavy metal content, making them suitable for use in the determination of metal content in airborne particulate matter.
