Product Description
Monoclonal Antibody for studying GSTP1. Validated for Western Blotting,Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin),Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry). Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, GSTP1 (3F2) Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (BSA and Azide Free) (CST #10130) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information This product is the carrier free version of product #3369. All data were generated using the same antibody clone in the standard formulation which contains BSA and glycerol. This formulation is ideal for use with technologies requiring specialized or custom antibody labeling, including fluorophores, metals, lanthanides, and oligonucleotides. It is not recommended for ChIP, ChIP-seq, CUT&RUN or CUT&Tag assays. If you require a carrier free formulation for chromatin profiling, please contact us . Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. BSA and Azide Free antibodies are quality control tested by size exclusion chromatography (SEC) to determine antibody integrity. Formulation Supplied in 1X PBS (10 mM Na 2 HPO 4 , 3 mM KCl, 2 mM KH 2 PO 4 , and 140 mM NaCl (pH 7.8)). BSA and Azide Free. For standard formulation of this product see product # 3369 Storage Store at -20°C. This product will freeze at -20°C so it is recommended to aliquot into single-use vials to avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. A slight precipitate may be present and can be dissolved by gently vortexing. This will not interfere with antibody performance. Specificity / Sensitivity GSTP1 (3F2) Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (BSA and Azide Free) detects endogenous levels of total GSTP1 protein. This antibody does not cross react with GST-tagged proteins. Species Reactivity: Human, Monkey Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant GSTP1 protein. Background Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) are a family of isoenzymes that detoxify electrophiles through conjugation to thiol-reduced glutathione (GSH). Thus, they are critical in protecting cells from toxins (drugs, pesticides, carcinogens) and oxidative stress (1). Eight isoforms of cytosolic-soluble GSTs (α, κ, μ, π, σ, θ, ζ, and ω) are identified, while only GST-α, -μ, and -π are described in the central nervous system (2). GSTP1 (GSTπ) is overexpressed in early stages of carcinogenesis and can be used as a neoplastic marker in tumor tissues (3). GSTP1 directly inhibits TRAF2 and JNK but not NF-κB (4,5). Corresponding GSTP1 gene polymorphisms affect substrate selectivity and stability, and the oxidative milieu in dopaminergic neurons, which increases the susceptibility to Parkinson's disease (6).
