Product Description
Monoclonal Antibody for studying ITGA2B. Validated for Western Blotting,Immunoprecipitation. Available in 2 sizes. Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, Integrin alpha-2b (D8V7H) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CST #13807) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information Western Blotting: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:100 Storage Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/ml BSA, 50% glycerol and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation Specificity / Sensitivity Integrin alpha-2b (D8V7H) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total integrin α2b protein. Species Reactivity: Human Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human integrin α2b protein. Background Integrins are α/β heterodimeric cell surface receptors that play a pivotal role in cell adhesion and migration, as well as in growth and survival (1,2). The integrin family contains at least 18 α and 8 β subunits that form 24 known integrins with distinct tissue distribution and overlapping ligand specificities (3). Integrins not only transmit signals to cells in response to the extracellular environment (outside-in signaling), but also sense intracellular cues to alter their interaction with the extracellular environment (inside-out signaling) (1,2). Integrin α2b is a cell-surface adhesion molecule that undergoes proteolytic cleavage to yield disulfide-linked heavy and light chains, which together with glycoprotein IIIb, forms a major fibrinogen receptor in activated platelets (3). Mutations in the corresponding gene can result in Glanzmann thrombasthenia, a bleeding disorder characterized by lack of platelet aggregation (4,5).
