Product Description
Monoclonal Antibody for studying XPC. Validated for Western Blotting,Immunoprecipitation,Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry). Available in 2 sizes. Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, XPC (D1M5Y) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CST #14768) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information Western Blotting: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:100 Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry): 1:400 Storage Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/ml BSA, 50% glycerol and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry) Specificity / Sensitivity XPC (D1M5Y) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total XPC protein. Species Reactivity: Human Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the amino terminus of human XPC protein. Background Nucleotide excision repair (NER) is a process by which cells identify and repair DNA lesions resulting from chemical or radiation exposure (1). XPC forms a complex with HR23B (2) that acts as a damage sensor due to its high affinity for geometry distorting DNA lesions. This complex localizes to sites of DNA damage and recruits the remaining members of the preincision complex necessary for initiation of NER (3). XPC is one of eight NER proteins (XPA-G, XPV) where defects result in Xeroderma pigmentosum, a disease characterized by sunlight sensitivity, a predisposition to cancer of exposed tissue, and, in some instances, neurological defects (4). Alternate Names DNA repair protein complementing XP-C cells; mutant xeroderma pigmentosum group C; p125; RAD4; Xeroderma pigmentosum group C-complementing protein; xeroderma pigmentosum, complementation group C; XP3; XPC; XPC complex subunit, DNA damage recognition and repair factor; XPCC Specification REACTIVITY: H SENSITIVITY: Endogenous MW (kDa): 120 Source/Isotype: Rabbit IgG
