Product Description
Monoclonal Antibody for studying SRRM2. Validated for Western Blotting,Immunoprecipitation,Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry). Available in 2 sizes. Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, SRRM2 (F3J1Z) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CST #19700) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information Western Blotting: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:50 Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry): 1:2000 Storage Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry) Specificity / Sensitivity SRRM2 (F3J1Z) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total SRRM2 protein. This antibody detects a 42 kDa protein of unknown identity in some cell lines. Species Reactivity: Human Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant protein specific to the central region of human SRRM2 protein. Background Nuclear speckles (NS) are distinct biomolecular condensates consisting of nuclear proteins and RNA molecules. Although their exact biological function is not fully understood, NS are believed to function as hubs for mRNA splicing and potentially transcription (1). The splicing factors serine/arginine repetitive matrix protein 2 (SRRM2) and SON are necessary for NS formation (2). SRRM2 and SON undergo phase separation and function as scaffolding proteins, recruiting additional splicing factors and promoting NS assembly (3). In Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other tauopathies, SRRM2 can become mislocalized from NS to pathological tau aggregates in the cytoplasm, resulting in aberrant splicing (4,5). Loss-of-function (LoF) mutations in SRRM2 have also been associated with neurodevelopmental delay and an increased risk of developing papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) (6,7).
