Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Flow Cytometry (Fixed/Permeabilized), Flow Cytometry (Live) Specificity / Sensitivity PTPRJ/DEP-1 (F4G8K) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total PTPRJ/DEP-1 protein. Species Reactivity: Human Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant protein specific to a fragment of the extracellular domain of human PTPRJ/DEP-1 protein. Background Protein-tyrosine phosphatase receptor type J (PTPRJ), also known as density-enhanced phosphatase-1 (DEP-1), is a heavily glycosylated, type 1 transmembrane protein. The extracellular region of PTPRJ/DEP-1 contains multiple copies of the fibronectin type III motif, while its intracellular region harbors a single PTP catalytic domain (1). PTPRJ/DEP-1 is expressed at varying levels on multiple hematopoietic cell lineages and has been shown to modulate signaling downstream of the TCR complex (2,3). Research studies have suggested that PTPRJ/DEP-1 also plays a role in non-hematopoietic cell biology through its ability to inhibit cell growth in response to increasing cell density (4). Indeed, PTPRJ/DEP-1-dependent dephosphorylation of mitogenic molecules, such as c-Met and PDGFR-β, has been shown to attenuate signaling downstream of these RTKs (5,6). In many contexts, PTPRJ/DEP-1 functions as a tumor suppressor, and its expression is lost in multiple types of human cancers (7,8).
