Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin), Immunofluorescence (Frozen), Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry) Specificity / Sensitivity TYRP1 (F7P2J) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total TYRP1 protein. This antibody does not cross-react with TYR or DCT/TYRP2 protein. Species Reactivity: Human, Mouse Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant protein specific to the central region of human TYRP1 protein. Background Tyrosinase-related protein 1 (TYRP1) is a highly glycosylated transmembrane, zinc-binding metalloenzyme that belongs to the tyrosinase family. TYRP1 expression promotes melanogenesis and is highly localized to the melanosomal subcellular compartment of skin and retinal pigment epithelium melanocytes in normal tissues (1-3). Research studies have demonstrated that TYRP1 is highly expressed in human melanomas and has been identified as a candidate target of immunotherapeutic modalities given its tissue-restricted expression pattern (4-6).
