Product Description
Monoclonal Antibody for studying TRIM9. Validated for Western Blotting,Immunoprecipitation. Available in 2 sizes. Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, TRIM9 (E5P3R) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CST #32644) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information Western Blotting: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:50 Storage Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation Specificity / Sensitivity TRIM9 (E5P3R) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total TRIM9 protein. This antibody is predicted to cross-react with all three TRIM9 isoforms. Species Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Val217 of human TRIM9 protein. Background Tripartite motif-containing protein 9 (TRIM9) is a brain-enriched E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. TRIM family proteins contain a zinc-binding domain, followed by RING finger, B-box, and coiled-coil domains (1). TRIM proteins are implicated in several biological processes, including cell development and growth, but their molecular mechanism of action remains unclear. Interestingly, TRIM9 is reported to function as an E3 ubiquitin ligase (2). Ubiquitination is the post-translational modification of protein substrates by ubiquitin, a 76-amino acid polypeptide. This process is important for cellular protein turnover, and alterations in this process are linked to human diseases, including neurodegenerative diseases (3). Protein ubiquitination is mediated by a trio of ubiquitination enzymes, including E3 ubiquitin ligases. As a brain-enriched E3 ubiquitin ligase, TRIM9 may play a role in maintaining proper cellular proteostasis in the brain (2). Alterations in TRIM9 expression may contribute to human neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease, or injury (2,4). Alternate Names E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase TRIM9; homolog of rat RING finger Spring; KIAA0282; RING finger protein 91; RING-type E3 ubiquitin transferase TRIM9; RNF91; SNAP-25-interacting RING finger protein; SPRING; TRIM9; tripartite motif containing 9; tripartite motif-containing 9; Tripartite motif-containing protein 9 Specification REACTIVITY: H M R SENSITIVITY: Endogenous MW (kDa): 70, 79 Source/Isotype: Rabbit IgG
