Background Interferon-gamma-inducible GTPase 10 (IRGB10) is a member of a family of interferon-inducible GTPases, also known as p47 GTPases (1). In mice, there are 23 genes present in the p47 GTPase family; only two are found in human, neither of which are orthologs of mouse (2,3). In macrophages, IRGB10 expression is upregulated by IRF1 in response to infection by pathogenic bacteria, such as and (4).
