Product Description
Monoclonal Antibody for studying Kir4.1 mouse. Validated for Western Blotting,Immunofluorescence (Frozen). Available in 2 sizes. Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, Kir4.1 (F3O7C) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CST #42918) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information Western Blotting: 1:1000 Immunofluorescence (Frozen): 1:200 - 1:400 Storage Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunofluorescence (Frozen) Specificity / Sensitivity Kir4.1 (F3O7C) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total Kir4.1 protein. This antibody detects a non-specific band at 70 kDa by western blot. Non-specific staining was observed in frozen formaldehyde fixed mouse lung by immunofluorescence. Species Reactivity: Mouse, Rat Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Pro339 of mouse Kir4.1 protein. Background Inwardly rectifying potassium (Kir) channels containing Kir4.1 subunits (Kir4.1 channels) are expressed exclusively in glial cells in the central nervous system (CNS) (1). These channels provide a spatial buffering system for potassium ions, playing an important role in maintaining neuronal excitability (1-3). Astrocytic Kir4.1 channels have a pathophysiological role in epilepsy, Fragile X syndrome, chronic pain, and depression (2,4,5). Furthermore, Kir4.1 channels are expressed in oligodendrocytes. Oligodendric potassium clearance has been found critical for sustained axonal function and integrity (6). Alternate Names ATP-sensitive inward rectifier potassium channel 10; BIR; BIR10; BIRK; BIRK-1; inward rectifier K(+) channel Kir4.1; KCJ10; Kcnj10; Kcnj10 protein; Kir1; Kir1.2; Kir4; Kir4.1; potassium channel, inwardly rectifying subfamily J member 10; potassium inwardly-rectifying channel, subfamily J, member 10 Specification REACTIVITY: M R SENSITIVITY: Endogenous MW (kDa): 42, 140, 180 Source/Isotype: Rabbit IgG
