Background Actin-related protein 2/3 complex subunit 5 (ARPC5) is a component of the ARP2/3 actin nucleation complex, which regulates actin dynamics and cellular processes such as cell migration, division, endocytosis, and vesicle trafficking (1). The ARP2/3 complex has also been shown to promote repair of DNA double-strand breaks through homologous recombination (2). ARPC5 expression is increased and associated with poor prognosis in several human cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma, prostate cancer, gliomas, and multiple myeloma (3-6).
