Background The F-actin-capping protein, a ubiquitously expressed heterodimer composed of structurally similar α and β subunits, regulates cytoskeletal organization and function by binding to the actin filament barbed ends and maintaining the cellular pool of monomeric actin (1). F-actin-capping protein subunit α-1 (CAPZA1) overexpression is linked to more favorable prognosis in gastric cancer (2).
