Background Mab-21 domain-containing protein 2 (MB21D2), also known as C3orf59, belongs to a protein family of cGAS/DncV-like nucleotidyltransferase (CD-NTase) enzymes involved in a variety of cellular processes, including cell survival, proliferation, and migration (3). MB21D2 is an intracellular E-cadherin binder that carries a recurrent mutation (1,4).
