Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence (Immunocytochemistry) Specificity / Sensitivity NPAT (F1D9Q) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total NPAT protein. This antibody detects a 120 kDa protein of unknown identity in some cell lines. Species Reactivity: Human, Monkey Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with recombinant protein specific to the central region of human NPAT protein. Background Nuclear protein of the ataxia-telangiectasia locus (NPAT) is a transcriptional coactivator that is crucial for cell cycle progression (1,2). NPAT expression is regulated by the E2F transcription factor and its protein levels peak at the G1/S boundary (2,3). NPAT regulates the expression of all five histone gene subtypes (H1, H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) during the transition from G1 to S phase of the cell cycle (4,5). NPAT serves as a scaffolding protein for the formation of histone locus bodies (HLBs), which are unique biomolecular condensates functioning as localized hubs for histone mRNA synthesis and processing (6). Phosphorylation of NPAT by cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (CDK2) is required for histone mRNA transcription, but it is not necessary for HLB formation (7). Mutations in the gene have been linked to various cancers, including colorectal cancer and Hodgkin lymphoma (8,9). Alternate Names CAND3; E14; E14/NPAT; NPAT; Nuclear protein of the ataxia telangiectasia mutated locus; Nuclear protein of the ATM locus; nuclear protein, ataxia-telangiectasia locus; nuclear protein, ataxia-telangiectasia locus; nuclear protein, co-activator of histone transcription; nuclear protein, coactivator of histone transcription; p220; Protein NPAT Specification REACTIVITY: H Mk SENSITIVITY: Endogenous MW (kDa): 210 Source/Isotype: Rabbit IgG
