Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, AKAP11 (E9E6W) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CST #77313) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information Western Blotting: 1:1000 Immunoprecipitation: 1:100 Storage Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting, Immunoprecipitation Specificity / Sensitivity AKAP11 (E9E6W) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total AKAP11 protein. Species Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Ala1125 of mouse AKAP11 protein. This antigen is conserved in human. Background AKAPs (A-kinase anchoring proteins), as their name implies, are a family of scaffolding proteins that bind regulatory subunits of Protein Kinase A (PKA) thus localizing PKA activity to distinct regions of the cell (1). Beyond a common amphipathic alpha-helix which is responsible for recruiting the PKA regulatory subunit (RIα, RIIα, RIβ, or RIIβ), individual AKAPs contain additional domains responsible for the recruitment of additional signaling proteins (phosphodiesterases, phosphatases, cytoskeletal components, other kinases, etc.) or restricting the AKAP to a specific subcellular location (1). AKAP11 (also known as AKAP220) was originally identified in testis where it targets PKA to peroxisomes (2). Studies have also found that AKAP11 functions as an autophagy receptor targeting the R1α inhibitory subunit of PKA for degradation through a selective autophagy pathway, leading to an increase in PKA activity during nutrient deprivation (3). Exome sequencing in bipolar disorder patients identified as a risk gene shared with schizophrenia (4). Alternate Names 6330501D17Rik; A kinase (PRKA) anchor protein 11; A-kinase anchor protein 11; Akap11; AKAP220; Gm80; mKIAA0629; MKIAA0629 protein; PRKA11 Specification REACTIVITY: H M R SENSITIVITY: Endogenous MW (kDa): 210 Source/Isotype: Rabbit IgG
