Product Description
Monoclonal Antibody for studying insulin. Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, Insulin (C27C9) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (SignalFlex Alexa Fluor® 555 Conjugate) (CST #80486) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information SignalFlex™ conjugates are produced using highly validated Cell Signaling Technology ® primary antibodies and conjugation methods that have been rigorously tested, ensuring high-quality conjugates and lot-to-lot consistency. These conjugates are quality control tested by size exclusion chromatography (SEC) to determine antibody integrity. However, they are not tested on specific assays. Optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user. When performing flow cytometry, we recommend using an isotype control conjugate at the same concentration as the antibody conjugate. Storage Supplied in PBS (pH 7.2), less than 0.1% sodium azide, and 2 mg/mL BSA. Store at 4°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protect from light. Do not freeze. Specificity / Sensitivity Insulin (C27C9) Rabbit mAb (SignalFlex™ Alexa Fluor Species Reactivity: Human, Mouse, Rat Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to Val42 of human insulin. Background The maintenance of glucose homeostasis is an essential physiological process that is regulated by hormones. An elevation in blood glucose levels during feeding stimulates insulin release from pancreatic β cells through a glucose sensing pathway (1). Insulin is synthesized as a precursor molecule, proinsulin, which is processed prior to secretion. A- and B-peptides are joined together by a disulfide bond to form insulin, while the central portion of the precursor molecule is cleaved and released as the C-peptide. Insulin stimulates glucose uptake from blood into skeletal muscle and adipose tissue. Insulin deficiency leads to type 1 diabetes mellitus (2). Alternate Names IDDM; IDDM1; IDDM2; ILPR; ins; Insulin; insulin (A chain, B chain); Insulin A chain; Insulin B chain; IRDN; MODY10; PNDM4; preproinsulin; proinsulin Specification REACTIVITY: H M R SENSITIVITY: Endogenous Source/Isotype: Rabbit IgG
