Product Usage Information Western Blotting: 1:1000 Simple Western™: 1:10 - 1:50 Storage Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Background The serine/arginine-rich family of splicing factors are crucial regulators in precursor RNA splicing, a process that is associated with maintenance of genome stability, regulation of mRNA export and stability, and translation (1). Serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 7 (SRSF7/SFRS7), also known as splicing factor 9G8, is overexpressed in colon and lung cancer, and regulates proliferation and apoptosis through the splicing of Fas mRNA in human colon and lung cancer cells (2). In human colon cancer cells, SRSF7 knockdown increased levels of the CDK inhibitor p21 Waf1/Cip1 in a p53-independent manner (3). SRSF7 also regulates age-dependent splicing in mice (4) and induces expression of cellular senescence markers in response to DNA damage by generating an alternatively spliced form of p53, p53β (5).
