Highly specific and rigorously validated in-house, Apolipoprotein C-I (F9L6S) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody (CST #92796) is ready to ship. Product Usage Information Western Blotting: 1:1000 Storage Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at -20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody. Protocol Available protocols: Western Blotting Specificity / Sensitivity Apolipoprotein C-I (F9L6S) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total apolipoprotein C-I protein. This antibody detects a 35 kDa and a 45 kDa protein of unknown identity in some cell lines. Species Reactivity: Human Source / Purification Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human apolipoprotein C-I protein. Background Apolipoprotein C-I (ApoC1) is a member of the apolipoprotein family, which takes part in the assembly of supramolecular lipoprotein complexes (1-3). The gene is expressed in many tissues, with the highest expression in liver and differentiated macrophages (1-3). ApoC1 protein is synthesized as an 83 amino acid precursor, which is cleaved into a 57 amino acid mature protein, making it the smallest of all circulating apolipoproteins (1). ApoC1 is involved in the metabolism of triglyceride-rich lipoproteins by inhibiting the binding of very low density lipoproteins (VLDL) (4,5). ApoC1 is the main physiological inhibitor of the cholesterol ester transfer protein (CETP), which is associated with macrovascular complications in patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D) (6). Alternate Names Apo-CI; Apo-CIB; Apo-CIB'; ApoC-I; ApoC-IB; ApoC-IB'; APOC1; APOC1B; Apolipoprotein C-I; Apolipoprotein C1; Truncated apolipoprotein C-I Specification REACTIVITY: H SENSITIVITY: Endogenous MW (kDa): 9 Source/Isotype: Rabbit IgG
