For quality assurance, The XRO version of the conditioned tubes are tested for background contamination and are sealed with Brass endcaps and PTFE ferrules. The specication is that no single peak in the test chromatogram may exceed 20% (10 ng) of external standard peak (Benzene). One tube per pack is tested.

Our conditioned tubes can be used without additional conditioning for most applications If lower background levels are required, it’s recommeded that tubes be reconditioned for 15-30 minutes before use. This can be done using the TurboMatrix (TMX) Automated Thermal Desorber (ATD), or the PerkinElmer TMX TC220 Tube Conditioner.

Adsorbents have different upper temperature limit. The adsorbents contained in the XRO tubes have a maximum limit of 400 °C. The recommended tube conditioning temperture is 380 °C, or 25 °C above the desired sample desorption temperature.
